For the Farmer’s Fayre markets in Impington and Linton, Laura produces artisanal baked goods, completely from scratch, in small batches using excellent ingredients, from her home kitchen in rural Cambridgeshire.
Laura offers authentic Norwegian waffles, made from a traditional recipe using organic milk, cream, eggs, flour and butter, served hot off the waffle iron in the Norwegian manner with sour cream and strawberry jam.
Her original-recipe Old-fashioned gingerbread is full of crystallised ginger and spices, and made with butter and unrefined muscavado sugar. It’s warming and more-ish and comes in packages of three chewy bars, tied in brown paper with string.
Homemade cinnamon rolls, with fresh-orange-juice icing, are a fragrant favourite early in the day when they are still warm from Laura’s home oven.
Her Italian biscotti, also her own recipe, are over 40% almond, and lovely with tea or coffee, a sweet wine after dinner, and with cheese. They last really well, too.
Laura also makes a few special cakes for each market, for sale whole and/or by the slice, changing with the seasons.
Laura uses only the freshest and best ingredients in all her baking, and bakes fresh for each market. She is always delighted to take special orders.
A food writer, caterer, baker and cookery instructor, Laura delights in delighting others with delicious, interesting, and beautiful food.
“I want you to be charmed by what I make for you. I think we all look for a deep-down pleasure from what we eat, and when we do experience it, it means a lot. That is my satisfaction. I want to cheer people.
I’ve made it my mission to seek out recipes, methods, and ingredients that have something special – tastes, above all, but also traditions and stories, and of course quality. I always think, if you’re going to have a treat, you want it to be deeply satisfying, ethically produced, and worth the calories.”
